Great Wolf Lodge Kansas City, Kansas

Even though winter has been mild here this year (from what the locals tell us), we were still getting a little stir crazy.  Nothing an indoor, climate controlled, water park couldn't cure.  From the time we arrived it was obvious that this place was geared toward children.  The kids thought the Lobby was amazing.

All of the animals (and trees) behind Olivia come to life during story time.  They sing and dance and tell stories.

The Great Wolves of the Great Wolf Lodge.

Olivia pretending to be getting bit while Gavin tries to figure out how to take the giant penny with him.

They though the lobby was cool but then they saw their ROOM!  Within our "cabin" was a seperate area set up and decorated like their own tent area.

The murals inside their "tent".

And BUNKBEDS!  Olivia was super excited about sleeping on the top bunk.

I, of course, had to barricade Gavin in on the bottom bunk.

And if the room wasn't cool enough, check out where we sat to eat breakfast.

The pool had to be Olivia's favorite.  Pools, slides, tree house, hot tubs ... sooo much to do.

It was hard to keep a camera in the pool area so this last picture is from their website but it shows more then I could get in one picture.

The icing on the cake was story time in the lobby.  Kids (and some parents) came in their pj's, watched the animals come to life and then GOT TO MEET VIOLET!

All in all I would say it was a great weekend.

Oh my gosh, how could I forget Cub Club?  Gavin liked playing at the Cub Club while Olivia was swimming.

Luca came to visit!!!! I can't fit enough exclamation points to express our excitement!

What can I say, I am so glad to have spent time with Luca.  I think you can tell from the pictures that Olivia is too.  We are on our way to the zoo.

Walking and arriving at the gate.  Big smiles.

The elephants are not as cute as the children but you know I can't NOT post the elephants!

"What is that you say goat? We have something in common?  Hahaha we ARE both kids!"  hee hee.

There are differently painted penguins all over Tulsa.  From what I hear they were auctioned off years ago to raise money for the penguin exhibit at the zoo.  This one is in front of the Bank of America, thus the red, white and blue.  We searched out and found a few of these penguins to pose with but I will be darned if I can find the pictures of them.  The coolest one we found had giant buttons on it's belly b/c it was owned by a cell phone company.  Haha a cell phone penguin.  The ironic part is that we got more and more excited to see the penguins that these penguins helped pay for but when we got to the zoo it was so unseasonably warm that the penguins were all (but one) inside their habitat and we couldn't see them.  =-(
