Blue Angels, the park and our friend Cassidy

Ok...just a warning....I have gone picture happy in today's entry. Let's start with the park. Olivia had a playdate this week with her friend Cassidy at a park near our house. They played in the sand areas....
They played in the pretend concession stand (where Luca worked the grill, Olivia was in charge of drinks and Cassidy handed out ice-cream. they all did a wonderful job). The do-rag on her head was to try to keep her head cool. She's so fair and the sun was so bright ... she liked the wet cloth after all that work waiting on customers. =-)
And they played on the SWINGS! Olivia finally enjoys the swings and a pretty fast pace too. Grandma Melville would be so proud!
They started out on swings side by side but it seemed like O was a bit uncomfortable with how much she moved around in the big swing... so then they went in the same swing back to back ... I believe she enjoyed it much more that way.
On the way out I just couldn't help myself .... I had to have a picture of her in this tree. I have a very, very similiar picture of Savanah. Savanah is younger but size wise they are about the same. I wish it wasn't so late, I'd love to scan S's picture and post them side by side.
Mike took us to see the Blue Angels at the airforce base here. It was a great day....HOT...but nice. Folks were huddled in the shadows of the massive planes just for relief from the sun. We just bought a hiking backpack to carry Olivia in and it turned out to be great for this outing. She no longer wants to sit in her stroller (at least not forward facing and on her butt like it's intended) but she LOVES to be carried so it worked out really well. The pack has a stand that folds out so even when I took it off, she could stay seated in it to eat her lunch or sleep. With the air temp being 90 and that tarmac being (what seemed like) 200 degrees it wasn't appropriate for her to be running around anyway.
These planes were LOUD and flying LOW so it's a good thing Mike remembered earplugs for Olivia (below) He also lathered her up with SPF 70. I joked with him that I thought she was more pale when we got home then she was before being out in the sun all day. SPF 70...it works!
I better log off and get some sleep but I promise I am going to update again soon and it'll include some bathroom update pictures as well as other fun stuff! For now I will leave you with one last picture of which i have no caption for .... what do you think Olivia is thinking in this next picture? (another picture Mom? really?)
